Admissions

Brisbane Academy Preparatory School follows an open admissions policy whereby we seek to enroll qualified candidates without regard to race, national or ethnic origin, handicap or religion.
Our School looks for candidates who demonstrate a desire to learn and do their personal best. . . a willingness to become an active part of and eager contributor to a dynamic learning environment.
Admissions decisions are made through a careful and thoughtful process based on a balance of the total needs of the child and the school's ability to meet those needs. Students are selected through a process which includes the following:

An Interview:

This is the initial personal contact between the potential student, the parent(s), and the school.  During this important part of the application process, the student is qualified as to their willingness and desire to learn. The interviewer looks for any potential behavioral problems and/or learning disabilities*. We also ascertain the commitment of the parent(s) and/or guardian(s) as to their active support of both their student(s) and the mission and focus of our School.
Those candidates with only minor learning disabilities or low discipline problems may (depending on the individual circumstances) be accommodated at Brisbane. We do not, however, have the resources necessary at this time to provide for the needs and nurturing of students with either severe discipline or learning disability problems.

A Trial Day at Brisbane:

The prospective student will be provided with a Brisbane uniform and actively participate in a complete day of classes. We want to be relatively sure that they will be happy and can adapt to this new and exciting type of learning environment. The bottom line is . . . "What is best for this child?" - "If You Love Them, They Will Learn."

Application Process:

The application process is ongoing throughout the school year and the summer. Although there is no application deadline, enrollment space is limited. Prospective students are therefore encouraged to apply and begin the process as soon as possible.
